  • Associations
  • Firstly, this record isn't that great (about 6/10) so I have only played it a few times whilst DJ-ing and the last time was at the Skiving Scholar, Plymouth in 2007. It mainly serves as a memento of the only time I visited the USA and went to see a hiphop show on my own as I was a great fan of the acts performing. My main memories are of Thes One performing on an MPC whilst wearing a velour tracksuit and Kangol hat, the sheer size of his cohort Double K, the call and response routine of J-Live and the quality of the sound/stage at the venue. Other than the performance the record also reminds me of my neice Medina, who had just been born and was the reason for our visit.
